Add some Color to your Life

April 1st and I woke up to a snow covered world here in Upstate NY. This is the time of year I get so very antsy. I'm aching to garden, to get my hands in the dirt and create beauty. Snow is beautiful, but...not a heck of a lot of color.
The past week or so I have kept saying, I need flowers, I want color. I keep meaning to get some at the store and fill my home with nature's beauty. Somehow I haven't managed it, either they didn't have any or they weren't fresh or...or...winter blahs. I know it's Spring, the calendar says so, it just doesn't say so when I look out the window ;)
Why am I telling you all of this and what does it have to do with art? It has EVERYTHING to do with art...COLOR :)
You see it translates from nature to art, to our world, in every day uses. What do I mean?
Flowers for example. Simple grocery store gerber daisies and mums in hot pink and tangerine. Hot bold color, the perfect combination to chase away the winter chill.

Aren't they Beautiful! Three bunches for a small tortoise glass container. I like an overstuffed arrangement. Full and bursting color makes me very happy.

*Of course my Calvin had to jump on the kitchen counter to see what Mumma was so happy about ;) the blur of my fluffy baby running because he know he's not allowed on the counter...ohh Calvin ;)
